8 Tips for Preparing for Bathing Suit Season

8 Tips for Preparing for Bathing Suit Season

When the warm weather comes, one thing you want to do is to look good in your bathing suit. Below are some easy tips that you can use to help you with firming up and losing weight.

1. Take the Stairs
Rather than riding an elevator or escalator, taking the steps is a better idea. It’s officially classed as a ‘vigorous’ form exercise and burns more calories per minute than jogging. Just two minutes extra stair climbing a day is enough to stop average middle age weight gain.

2. Pack your Lunch
Packing your lunch every day also packs along a few other important and surprising benefits. First, you save money compared to eating at a restaurant. Second, if you pack your lunch wisely, your lunch will be much healthier. You’re going to have a lot more control over the calories you’re consuming. Try eating a lunch that’s well-balanced with a lot of vegetables and fruits.

3. Eat Smaller Meals Throughout the Day
Rather than eating three big meals, eat lots of small meals. These should be small meals. This means that you’re burning calories through digestion. You also won’t overeat when meal time comes since you won’t be really hungry.

“After about 3 hours without food, blood sugar begins to fall. And after 4 hours, your body has already digested whatever you sent down earlier,” says Cleveland dietitian Amy Jamieson-Petonic, RD. “Once you’ve crossed the 5-hour mark, your blood sugar begins to plummet, and you grab whatever you can to refuel.”

4. Park Far Away
The majority of people are going to drive around the parking lot so that they can find a close spot. But instead of doing this park further away. You’ll burn more calories and won’t have to worry about other drivers dinging your car. If you drive to work, parking at the far end of the lot every day can really add up. Think about it this way—you can burn an extra 10 calories every time you walk from your car to the store or office by parking farther away.

5. Walk Quicker
You can burn a lot of calories when you are walking faster. Don’t be afraid of passing other walkers, either. It’s probably the most convenient physical activity that you can work into your life, says exercise physiologist Richard Cotton, a spokesman for the American College of Sports Medicine in Indianapolis. “It just requires shoes. You can walk wherever you are, even if it’s just walking in place in your house or taking the stairs more.”

6. Drink a lot of Water
This is going to be good for you and it also will help you feel like you’re full without giving you a lot of calories that you don’t need. It also is going to help you with flushing the toxins from your system. There is nothing more important than constantly hydrating your body. Water replenishes your body — especially after a workout, gives you more energy, helps to clear up your skin, helps to keep you full to help eliminate snacking between meals, and is calorie-free. I never thought I would say this about water but, chug a lug!

7. Use Free Weights Not Machines
Rather than using machines, work out using free weights. You have to use muscles in order to unload and load the bars. You also use muscles for picking up your weights and putting them back. This will increase the calories you’re burning a lot faster.

8. Write Down What You Eat
Each day, write down what you had to eat to help keep track of your daily intake. You may be cheating a tad more than you realize. Not to mention, you will be less inclined to have that cookie sitting in the conference room if you are forced to write it down afterwards.

These are eight tips that you can use to be ready when you want to put your bathing suit on. Not only will you look better but you’re also going to be a lot healthier too.
